New 5er is in!

Hi all. Well after waiting for what seems for ever...our new Cardinal 3802 BH is finally in! We should be bringing it home on Wed. They made some nice upgrades, recessed lighting threwout the whole trailer. Woodwork is awesome! Carpet is thicker and the slides are all flush with the sidewalls with a new seal system that can be serviced without removing the slide. So much more! Rich

RE: Another one bites the dust in NJ

We went passed Cartec last weekend on the NJ TNPK. There were still some MHs there along with 1 5er. Didnt' see any trucks tho. I never had a bad deal with them in over 5 years of doing business with them. Rich

RE: New Open Road

Since Open Road has closed, and warraty on appliances still in effect... and it is 2 yrs old, I would offer 1/2 of MSRP or less. Rich

RE: trailer saver vs air safe hitch

Rock 2, Sorry it took so long to get back to you, been out of town. I run my air @ 80PSI. Very little chucking, trailer weighs 15K loaded. Pin weight is aprox 3K loaded. Rich

RE: trailer saver vs air safe hitch

I have Air Safe 25k and LOVE it. Both are really good hitches. Both use Binkly-Holland lock plates. IMHO they are the best. As far as the ride goes, once you tow with an air hitch, you will never go back to a static mount again. It takes abou 98% of the bounce out. Rich

RE: Atlantic City RV show

Didn't go last year but, went the year before. I thought it was a good show then. Thinking of going this year. Rich

RE: Another one bites the dust in NJ

Well, Cartec has always been a top notch dealer. I have bought 4 trucks from them personally along with my BIL and a neighbor. It was always a painless deal with them. It is too bad that the economy got them. I hope that Dennis can get it worked out. They always went the extra step for us and they were the first place I would look when I got the itch to replace a truck. Well worth the 2 hours each way for us. Rich

RE: Need Help Trailer Brake wiring

You will have to look in the area that would normally house the spare tire on the frame. You may have check in the plastic loom but, you will find it. Fuse for the charge line will be either 30 or 40 amp large spade style fuse. If you have an owners manual, it should tell you where it goes. Rich

RE: Anyone had a "Full Replacement" loss on and RV

The only thing I had to work on was the ACV. I knew it was a little low. I have 35 years in the auto body business so, they were not going to work the system on me. I got the ACV closer to where I thought it should be. I also made it clear that I was not looking for something I was not entitled to but, everything I was. Its fun sometimes when people try to push you and you know more than them! Rich

RE: Anyone had a "Full Replacement" loss on and RV

Chuckster, In our case, the retail value, plus sales tax was just over $58k. Our ACV is $39,677. New rig is $67K. They pay up to the $58K. Rest is up to me. If the new one was less than $58k, that is what I would get. Rich

RE: Anyone had a "Full Replacement" loss on and RV

We are in the middle of it right now. My Ins. Co. pays actual cash value up front and the balance of the "Stated Amount" upon proof of purchase, title and registration. They give 6 months to replace the trailer. I am cleaning out our trailer now so ins. co. can get it next week. New one on order, due in early Nov. Rich

RE: Adding Scissor jacks fore and aft of wheels

I also will add a pair to the new 5er on the way. I have them and was going to put them on the one we have now but, the ins co. will taking it soon. Rich

RE: Defective refridgerator?

In the back of the fridge, there is a ciecuit board. On the board, there is a 5 amp glass fuse for the AC power. Most likely, that fuse is bad. The other thing would be the AC heater. Rich

RE: Gremlin in my GMC wiring !!!

This is why we install second bulb/separate wiring system only. Diodes are nice when they work but, they are a little finicky

RE: Shrink wrap a camper for storage????

Its not something I would do. I would be worried about condensation. RVs need to breath. That is why you should leave a window or covered vent ajar. Rich

RE: 240 volts to the RV?

Yes he is right! It is really 2 110 volt lines, not 240. The 110 lines each feed a 50 amp breaker with a ground and a neutral. I am sure others can explain it better.

RE: 08 F 450 ?s

Thanks for all the feedback. This is the only Ford I have had problems, had 3 7,3s, trouble free. The 6.4 went back to the mechanical injector system, not the oil presure that the 6.0 has. For those who think I should jump ship...I really like the Ford, just fit me right. I found an 08 with 6k miles on it for a good price, I think I will look at it a little harder Rich

08 F 450 ?s

Hi all, looking for feed back on the 08 F 450 6.4. I am having injector issues with my 6.0 (again!) So I think it is time to move on. No brand wars please as I need at least the 450. Thanks Rich
